Open Hearts Cafe
Every Wednesday we serve a hot meal from 9-11:45 am (or until food runs out)!
Hand Up Food Pantry & Clothes Closet
Every Wednesday from 9:00AM until 11:45AM.
How does the pantry work? All first timers will receive some of the most basic and essential items to cook a meal: flour sugar, oil, and cornmeal. Families are eligible to return to the pantry the Wednesday, 30 days following their last food box.
The first time a family comes to the pantry, they are asked to fill out an application and have the following items: Social Security Cards of all persons living in the household, proof of Allen County Residency, Rent Receipt or House Payment, Utility Bills (Electric, Water, and or Gas), Proof of Income (Check stub or Award Letter), and Food Stamp Information.
Along with the food pantry we also have a clothes closet ministry that we are blessed to share with any families in need. We allow families to pick out 5 full outfits per a person, as well as a coat, a pair of shoes, and personal items. And if anyone is in need of specific items that are not available in the clothes closet, we ask that people let us know so we can be on the look-out for such items.
How can you help the pantry?
Volunteers to the food pantry and clothes closet are always welcome! You can also donate money to the food pantry that will be used to purchase items that are needed for the running of the pantry. The pantry also accepts clothing, kitchen items (such as plates, cups, utensils, and small appliances) and sheets and towels.
